What programme and curriculum does Ethos International School follow?
- Ethos International School follows a British-based educational approach combining academic rigour with holistic child development. Our curriculum is broad, balanced, and coherent, meeting the needs of a diverse pupil body while maintaining the principles of British education.
• Foundation Stage (FS1–FS2): UK National Curriculum EYFS, supporting learning through play and experiences to develop essential skills, curiosity, and positive learning habits.
• Primary: UK National Curriculum, nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and confidence to prepare pupils for secondary studies.
• Secondary: Cambridge International Curriculum, with Cambridge Science taught across key stages. Lower Secondary builds independence and subject mastery;
Upper Secondary prepares pupils for IGCSE examinations and academic specialisation.
Arabic and Religion Studies
Arabic and Religion support Ethos’s vision of developing pupils who are confident in their identity and guided by strong values.
Arabic is taught daily to build solid language skills and cultural connection.
Religion is taught twice a week in Primary to strengthen ethical understanding and positive behavior.
Both subjects emphasise identity, moral development, and cultural awareness.
What is the Character Education Programme at Ethos?
The Character Education Programme develops pupils’ core ethical and moral values, helping them become caring, responsible, and contributing citizens.
The programme focuses on:
• Performance traits: Supporting strong academic and personal performance
• Moral traits: Supporting honest, respectful, and healthy relationships. It uses a variety of educational approaches, including whole-child education, service learning, social-emotional learning, and civic education.
Pupils focus on one specific value each month, with skills needed to practice and apply each value taught through weekly Character Education lessons.
Does Ethos follow a textbook-based approach?
- Ethos does not follow a strictly book-based approach. Teaching is objective-led, grounded in research showing that high-quality learning occurs when teachers plan according to clearly defined curriculum outcomes rather than following textbooks page by page.
Textbooks may be provided in selected subjects as supportive resources, not as prescriptive programmes.
What is Ethos’s homework policy?
Homework is designed to extend and reinforce learning in a purposeful and manageable way, focusing on quality over quantity:
• FS1–FS2: Supports communication, language development, and home-based learning experiences to establish routines for future structured homework.
• Primary: Reinforces classroom learning and identifies areas needing extra support.
Pupils complete tasks independently unless research-based or part of a flipped classroom.
• Lower Secondary: Consolidates learning, deepens understanding, and promotes independence, self-discipline, time management, and personal responsibility.
Do you accept pupils with learning difficulties or physical disabilities?
Yes. Ethos is inclusive. Each case is reviewed individually, and appropriate Learning Support is arranged in collaboration with parents, based on screening outcomes and available resources. Physical disabilities are also supported within the school’s facilities and programmes.
What international accreditations and examination boards recognise Ethos International School?
Ethos is accredited by leading international boards:
• Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International)
• Pearson Edexcel (Edexcel International)
• Oxford International AQA Examinations (Oxford AQA)
These accreditations ensure our curriculum meets rigorous global standards and prepares pupils for qualifications recognised worldwide.

The main communication platform is Skolera.
• Parents can message teachers or school offices directly through the system, and teachers respond within 48 hours.
• Urgent matters should be directed to the School Office through the official school phone number. Parents and teachers are not permitted to communicate through personal phone numbers.
• If a phone conversation is needed, parents may request a call through Skolera, and the call will be arranged through the school’s official phone lines. Likewise, teachers may contact parents only via the school’s official numbers when necessary.
