Character Education
Our Character Education program enables pupils and adults in our school to understand, care about, and act on core ethical values such as respect, integrity, caring, and responsibility for self and others. It focuses on building the foundational values that will shape the character of our pupils, rather than merely striving for temporal, performance-driven results. Upon such core values, we form the attitudes and actions that are the hallmark of safe, healthy, and informed communities that serve as the foundation of our society. Moreover, we focus on mindset growth, which revolves around the belief that you can improve intelligence, ability, and performance.
In our approach, we use an intentional, proactive, and comprehensive approach to character development. We offer multiple opportunities for our pupils to learn about, discuss, and enact positive social behaviors. This is done through day-to-day encounters, trips, and camps. To support this process, our school creates a caring and supportive community where teachers encourage our pupils to develop and grow morally. Educators and all school staff are part of an ethical learning community and adhere to the same values that they teach. We provide training for staff on how to integrate character education into the life and culture of the school; we form a vital partnership with parents and the community so that pupils hear a consistent message about character traits essential for success in school and life.
Positive Behaviour Policy
We believe that providing a nurturing, safe, and caring environment that encourages and fosters positive attitudes will enable students to develop appropriate social skills and be active and welcomed members of society. At EIS we believe in reinforcing positive behaviour and providing space and time for self-reflection and awareness.
