Ethos International School
Foundation Stage
The Foundation Stage at Ethos offers the “Early Years Foundation Stage” (EYFS) Framework set by the UK Department of Education.
It promotes both teaching and learning by providing the children with the adequate tools that prepare them for their future years. The framework with its range of knowledge and skills is delivered by our experienced teachers in a vibrant, playful, and culturally rooted manner.
The four guiding principles that shape this framework are:
Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured.
Building a positive relationship with each child is the cornerstone to develop their social skills and maintain their psychological well-being.
Providing an enabling environment through tools, technology, and multimedia in which their experiences respond to their individual needs.
Differentiating instruction is applicable through this holistic framework that covers the education and care of all children. Teachers deliver the framework using a multi-sensory approach, and differentiated activities to ensure that every child’s learning needs are being met.
Our Foundation Stage is located in a self-contained building on campus, which is fully equipped with colorful furnishings and stimulating resources. All Foundation Stage classrooms are equipped with a smart board, reading corner, and have their own bathroom facilities. Foundation Stage pupils also enjoy their own Expressive Arts room, Character Education room and a Foundation Stage equipped garden.
The Foundation Stage is a crucial time in a child’s academic journey, it is a time of rapid growth, where pupils are developing physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially, and at EIS we give this stage all the focus and dedication it needs.
